Pickleville Playhouse Theater in Bear Lake, UT

Summer is a sweet season in Bear Lake, Utah! In summer, the glistening “Caribbean of the Rockies” is a playground for watersports and beach days, our world-famous raspberries are perfect for picking, and the Pickleville Playhouse attracts tens of thousands of visitors for family fun and hilarious entertainment.

Situated on the south end of Bear Lake Blvd., the Pickleville Playhouse is a cozy, family-owned theater rated “Utah’s most unique live theater experience”. The old-fashioned melodrama theater, Pierre’s Playhouse in Victor, Idaho inspired LeGrande and Betty Larson to buy a piece of land on the shores of Bear Lake with a vision to build a family-family theater to delight all ages and bring generations together, forever.

History of Bear Lake’s Pickleville Playhouse Theater

Construction of the Pickleville Playhouse Theater began in June 1977 and the historic log theater was ready for the first show, The Faithful Footman, in August 1977. A quick turnaround, which included multiple nighttime visits to collect 320 seats from the Capitol Theater in Salt Lake City. Today, these same seats are sold out well in advance for hilarious musical melodramas, beloved Broadway shows, and family-friendly entertainment that for many has become a family tradition in Bear Lake
