For action-packed adventures on the water and excellent amenities nearby, plan a beach day at Bear Lake State Park Marina, located a mile north of Garden City on the western shores of Bear Lake. At Bear Lake State Park Marina, everything you need for a full day of fun is simply a stone’s throw away. The marina has a sheltered harbor, seasonal boat slips, a full pro shop and fishing docks, hot showers and restrooms, and a small sandy beach on the north side of the marina. The beach is perfect for building sandcastles, sunbathing, taking a summer dip in Bear Lake’s refreshing waters, or adventuring on crystal-clear waters with Bear Lake Fun.   

Bear Lake Fun is located on-site at the marina with a large fleet of motorized and non-motorized watersports rentals, including single and double kayaks, three-person canoes, water trampolines, and the “biggest and baddest boat rental on Bear Lake”. For fast food and raspberry shakes on the water, you can pull your boat right up to Bear Lake Marina Grill or find a spot to dine on the rooftop observation deck.

Amenities include restrooms and a small rental shack right on the shore, home to Leo’s Bear Lake Water Adventures. 

Leo’s Bear Lake Water Adventures offers beach umbrella and chair setup, a family-size floating oasis, skimboard and boogie board rentals, and the most affordable paddleboard and kayak rentals on Bear Lake, available by the hour or full day – Leo will even walk them down to the water’s edge! If you’re making a day of it, pack a picnic or take a stroll down Bear Lake Blvd. for lunch – Ruca’s, Bear Trapper, and Cody’s Gastro Garage are all nearby.

If seclusion and serenity are more your beach style (or you’re traveling with furry family members), take a scenic drive to Cisco Beach on the east side of Bear Lake. Named after the Bonneville Cisco, (a species of fish endemic to Bear Lake), Bear Lake State Park’s Cisco Beach is a long stretch of remote rocky beach popular with anglers (in every season!) and summer scuba divers exploring one of the most challenging and technical Scuba diving sites in Utah! 

Cisco Beach has a quick-to-reach steep drop-off from the shore with large volcanic rock formations and vibrant waters teeming with marine life. Scuba diving certification cards, dive flags, and dive buddies are required to scuba dive at Cisco Beach. Bring your own water toys and pack a picnic as there are no rental facilities or restaurants nearby.
